Green Bay walleye fishing over the last 7-10 days is still best described as inconsistent, with some great days and tough days too. The mud bite keeps showing potential, and then shows how tough it can be too. Trolled inline weights with crawler harnesses and trolled crankbaits are both putting out walleyes. University bay, Vokes reef, Vincent point, 2 mile reef, Geanos reef, Maccos reef, Pensaukee shoal, Oconto shoal, Young’s reef and Larsons reef all put out walleyes for us last week, with no particular structure outdoing the other. Perch fish remains good, with many 8-10” perch, along with good numbers of 11-13” perch showing up in anglers bags. Oconto shoal, Geanos reef, Bayshore near Dykesville, Vincent point and Vokes reef all had good populations of perch, with minnows and crawler pieces leading the way as best baits. To the north, big walleyes are on a good bite, with the rock structures of Door county waters leading the way. Pitching labby lures, shivers, spoons or trolled cranks/harnesses were the best lure/bait options. Musky action has heated up, with big fish hunters finding good action on large plastics and Bucktails casted around Pensaukee shoal, Charles pond, and the rock/weed areas off Chaudoirs. Smallmouth bass anglers are finding good fish in deep rock areas around Larsons reef, with drop shot rigs, Ned rigs, and jerk baits taking fish. If you go, please be safe, and take a kid fishing!
