Overall weather patterns here in Green Bay have been on the cooler side and that has meant the fishing
has been up and down daily. Overall, the activity has been good more days than not when the winds
have let anglers get out to try their luck.
University Bay and Deadhorse Bay both continue to improve overall with Walleye activity. Trolling #7
Flicker Minnows on shallow shorelines or sand bars like Frying Pan Soal has seen a slight uptick in action.
With the continued dirty water brighter color patterns have been doing better vs natural patterns.
The Suamico area saw some decent catches on and off this last week. Anglers choosing to cast shallow
win blown shorelines have had some success on Jigs with crawlers and Jigs with plastics and Ripn Raps.
Trollers running 10’’-12’ of water with Flicker Minnows have seen good catches of both Pike and
Walleye at times. Watch your electronics to locate areas holding fish.
The Geanos Beach/Reef area has also had good days getting some Pike and Walleye action. If there is
some wind try jigging or trolling shallow along the reef or shore lines if calmer out stay of the reef in 10’
-12’ of water with you trolling presentations.
The east sore continues to give up some Walleye trolling or casting 10’ of water or less along rocky areas
like Point Comfort All the way to Dykesville and all the way up to Macco’s reef. Trolling #7 Flicker
minnows has been good most days also casting hair jigs when the wind is blowing into the rocky shallow
areas has produced some catches. If the wind is calmer the fish in these areas have been moving out to
10’-15’ of water.
Small Mouth Bass anglers have been pretty tight lipped up in the Door Peninsula due to several Bass
Tournaments over the next couple weeks. Many anglers are finding fish in shallow wind-blown areas
around Riley’s Bay, Sand Bay and Little Sturgeon. Casting Paddle tails like Keitech Easy Shiners and The
Mayor from Rapala have been good choices for hungry pre-spawn Bass.
Reminder Perch season remains closed until May 20 th and Musky season remains closed until May 23rd
Please consider a selective harvest methodology in your Walleye targeting this season. Pleases consider
releasing your larger Walleye, a good length limit would be 22”-23”.
Remember to take a kid fishing
