Another week of overall great weather had many anglers out and about. The Alewife invasion has
moved in but overall, it does not seem as strong as the last few years, but we will see what progresses
the next couple weeks.
The lower Bay areas like College Reef, Frying Pan Soal and Dead Horse Bay all seem to be producing
Walleye at times trolling. The Morning bite or evening bites seem to be the best for getting past all the
Sheep Head, White Bass and Catfish that are also lurking. Trolling 4’-8’ seems to be the best with #7
Flicker Minnows. Colors like Purple Flash, Slick Mouse and Fire Tail Perch are all doing well along with
many custom colors with Purple/White combinations in them.
Green Bays East shore Walleye bite from Point Sable up to Macco’s reef has slowed a bit especially to
the north due to more bait showing up. But if the wind is bowing a bit the shallow rocky areas are still
giving up decent catches both casting jigs and crawlers or hair jigs and trolling #7 Flicker Minnows.
A few anglers are reporting getting some Walleye around the Geanos Reef area. Both casting in the
morning and evening with Jigs and Crawlers and hair jigs have been good at times with there is a little
wind.
The Perch bite continues to be on a slow start for most anglers looking around. Your best bet is to use
your electronics to seek out the fish before setting up. Dead sticking minnows and crawlers have
produced some catches around outside areas of the reefs like Geanos, Volks and Vincent.
