Walleye and perch fishing on Green Bay are very good, with several great bites going as long as the weather remains consistent. Geanos Reef, Macos Reef, Chaudoirs Dock, North South Reef, Oconto Shoal, and Young’s Reef are all putting out catches of walleye, with perch fishermen also finding success in these areas. Trolling crankbaits and crawler harnesses, and jigging ripper minnows or swim baits are popular and successful techniques. For big fish, the waters of northern Door County are the place to be. Chambers Island, Horseshoe Reef, Sister Bay, and Strawberry Island reefs are all producing big walleyes. Trolling, casting, and jigging are putting these big fish in the boat. If you go, please be safe, and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys Weekly Guide Fishing Report 7/28/21
Good walleye fishing continues on Green Bay, as long as the weather smiles on us. Crankbaits have ruled on shallow rock areas of Geanos, Vincent, Macos, and NorthSouth reefs. Jig fishermen are finding plenty of action on 2 mile and Chaudoirs area. Ripper minnows in goby gold and purple are best. North reefs of Door County are heating up, with crawler harnesses and large crankbaits doing best. If you go, please be safe and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys Weekly Fishing Report 7/27/21
The walleye bite has been incredible on both the east and west shores of the bay. Lots of eaters and some nice size fish are being caught. Trolling cranks, crawlers and rip jigging. Perch are also on fire using minnows and pieces of crawlers in 18 to 22 feet of water. Big cats are being caught on the river using live sucker minnows and pike are still being caught in the weed beds casting spinners and crankbaits. Musky fishing is really improving on the west shore, bucktails and rubber lures seem to be working the best. For more information give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!

Smokeys Weekly Fishing Guide Report 7/14/21
The constantly changing weather has put fishing in a great one day, poor the next spin. Last week’s NE wind and cooler temps shut the bite down for a couple days, then the first warm day saw excellent fishing. By Saturday, things had stabilized back to normal, with good walleye fishing found at Deadhorse, Vincent Point, 2 Mile Reef, Geanos Reef and the mud off Geanos and Pensaukee. Crankbaits and jigs shallow, with crawler harnesses deep took the most fish. Perch fishing also has been good, with limit catches around Suamico, Geanos, and Dykesville. If you get out, be safe, and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys on the Bay Weekly Fishing Report 7/13/21
The walleye bite improved last week. Fishermen are having lots of luck trolling cranks, crawler harnesses and rip jigging on both the east shore and west shore of the bay working the breaks and the humps. Some nice perch are also being caught in 18 to 22 feet of water jigging pieces of crawlers and minnows. Musky fishing has still been slow but as we move into August it should improve. Some nice northern pike are being caught on the west shore weed beds. For more information give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!
Smokeys on the Bay Weekly Fishing Report 7/5/21
The walleye bite is back on as the alewives are moving out of the system. Fishermen are having luck trolling harnesses and minnow baits. The rip jigging is also starting to produce some nice fish. With the warm weather we are having walleyes are being caught off the deeper breaks on both east and west shores of the bay. Perch fishing is still going strong in these same areas. Musky fishing is still slow but should improve with the alewives moving out of the lower bay. Remember that with these hot temperatures it puts extra stress on the muskies so please handle them with care. For more information give us a call 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!
Smokeys on the Bay Weekly Fishing Report
Fishing for walleyes and muskies has been pretty tough the last few weeks. The problem we have right now is the huge influx of alewives in the lower bay system. The predator fish are feasting on them. The alewives should be gone soon. Fishermen are still have some luck catching walleyes and perch out of Bay Shore and Geanos fishing the deeper breaks and fishing off the sides of the humps trolling cranks, crawler harnesses and jigging. Perch and still being caught in those same areas. For more information on what to use give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!

Smokeys Weekly Guide Report 6/15/21
With the early blast of warm weather, along with increasing water temperatures, walleye fishing remained good but put anglers in a search mode for consistency. Good catches are coming from transition areas, specifically areas with access to deep water and ever moving baitfish. Deeper areas off Vincent point, Bayshore, Two Mile reef, Geanos Reef and Shoemaker Point were popular areas, and decent catches of a mix of bigger and eating size walleyes were found in these places. Diving crankbaits and crawler harnesses trolled in these areas yielded the best catches. Yellow perch activity picked up with this warming trend, as good catches were found along both shores. Crawler pieces, red worms, and minnows took the most perch. If you go, please be safe, and take a kid fishing.
