Smokeys Weekly Fishing Report 3/14/22

The walleye run is going pretty strong right now on the Fox River from the dam to the mouth fishermen are getting some nice walleyes. With this warmer weather we are getting this week the river should be on fire. There is still safe ice on the lower bay on both the east and west shores. Use caution by the shorelines as that ice goes out faster due to the sun shinning on the shoreline and stay away from cracks on the ice. Good reports of perch(which will be closing on the 15th), walleyes and pike are being caught. For more information give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!

Ice conditions on the lower bay are good lots of fishermen out there catching some nice fish. The Fox River by the dam is still showing some nice catches of walleye and white fish. With the amount of people fishing that area during the weekend it makes it a little tougher with all the activity on the ice so if you can make it during the week your odds will improve for getting walleyes. Metro launch at the mouth of the Fox River is on fire lots of whitefish, pike and some perch and walleyes being caught. On the east shore out of Joliet, Vokes Reef and Bay Shore fishermen are catching some white fish and a few perch and walleyes. on the west shore dead horse bay, Hook Rd and Geanos perch and pike are being caught. Again during the weekends it is packed with fishermen out there so if you can make it during the week you will do better. Also try to stay away from the crowds out there by going to the north or south of these heavily fished areas as the fish get spooked with all the traffic of snowmobiles, 4 Wheeler’s and vehicles driving on the ice.
