Smokeys Weekly Guide Report 8/17/21

Walleye and perch fishing are excellent on Green Bay, with many limit catches in several places. Vincent Point, 2 mile reef, Macos reef, North South reef, Oconto Shoal, Geanos reef and Young’s reef are all putting out good catches of both species. Jigging Wapsie Ripper Minnows and trolling flicker minnows are the best presentation. For perch, night crawler pieces, red worms and minnows have been best. Musky fishermen are also doing well, with casting bucktails, Shadzillas, Medusa’s, shallow invaders, and similar baits. Charles Pond and the inside weed edge of Geanos have been best. In Door County waters, smallmouth and walleye have been active, with good catches of both species on deep reefs. If you go, be safe, and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys Weekly Fishing Report 8/16/21

Walleyes and perch are still being caught off both east and west shores of the bay. Vincent Point on the east shore has been pretty consistent if you want a limit of eater walleyes and some nice perch. Trolling cranks and harnesses are working well. If you want to try something different rip jiggn is really fun and is producing some nice fish. Our custom perch rigs are also working great allowing fishermen to catch two at a time. Muskies are also hitting on the west shore and it will only get better as September arrives. To find out what we are suing give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!

Smokeys Weekly Fishing Guide Report 8/3/21

Walleye and perch fishing on Green Bay are very good, with several great bites going as long as the weather remains consistent.  Geanos Reef, Macos Reef, Chaudoirs Dock, North South Reef, Oconto Shoal, and Young’s Reef are all putting out catches of walleye, with perch fishermen also finding success in these areas.  Trolling crankbaits and crawler harnesses, and jigging ripper minnows or swim baits are popular and successful techniques.  For big fish, the waters of northern Door County are the place to be.  Chambers Island, Horseshoe Reef, Sister Bay, and Strawberry Island reefs are all producing big walleyes.  Trolling, casting, and jigging are putting these big fish in the boat.  If you go, please be safe, and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys Weekly Guide Fishing Report 7/28/21

Good walleye fishing continues on Green Bay, as long as the weather smiles on us. Crankbaits have ruled on shallow rock areas of Geanos, Vincent, Macos, and NorthSouth reefs. Jig fishermen are finding plenty of action on 2 mile and Chaudoirs area. Ripper minnows in goby gold and purple are best. North reefs of Door County are heating up, with crawler harnesses and large crankbaits doing best. If you go, please be safe and take a kid fishing.

Smokeys Weekly Fishing Guide Report 7/14/21

The constantly changing weather has put fishing in a great one day, poor the next spin. Last week’s NE wind and cooler temps shut the bite down for a couple days, then the first warm day saw excellent fishing. By Saturday, things had stabilized back to normal, with good walleye fishing found at Deadhorse, Vincent Point, 2 Mile Reef, Geanos Reef and the mud off Geanos and Pensaukee. Crankbaits and jigs shallow, with crawler harnesses deep took the most fish. Perch fishing also has been good, with limit catches around Suamico, Geanos, and Dykesville. If you get out, be safe, and take a kid fishing.
