Smokeys Guide Report 10/5/21

As less and less fishermen frequent the Bay, the bite gets better and better. We’ve started fishing more in the Fox River, as a large amount of baitfish continue to migrate to the better current and typical winter staging areas. Jigging with Bat Lures blade baits, jig/plastic and jig/crawler rigs have taken the most walleyes on my boat. As water temperatures continue their downward slide, this bite and the number of fish there will increase. Perch fishing has been good, as long as NE winds aren’t shutting it down. We had multiple trips with great perch catches, with most fish coming on crawler pieces or minnows. Musky fishing has been okay, as many are hoping cooler air temps will push fish to feed more frequently. As always, be safe and take a kid fishing.
