With cooler weather moving into the area, the walleye, musky, and perch bite continue to be good in many locations. We found good perch and walleye fishing on Macos Reef and North-South Reef, with Ripper Minnows and night crawler pieces taking both species. The musky bite was good, with nice fish taken at Pensaukee Shoal, Charles Pond, Geanos and the sandbar near the Brown/Oconto county line. Big blades like Spanky double 10’s and Musky Mahem 10’s, along with Super Shad and Bucher Depth Raiders are best for big musky. Trophy walleye continue to bite in the Upper Door County area, with crankbaits, ripper minnows, and crawler harnesses all taking big fish. If you get out, be safe, and take a kid fishing.
