Walleye fishing on Green Bay picked up significantly over the last week, with water temps consistently in the 70’s and alewife finally dispersing from rock/reef areas. Good fishing has been found at College reef, Vincent Point, 2 mile reef, Geanos reef, Oconto Shoal, and in the weeds around Oconto. Casting Ripper minnows, Jig/crawler, or trolling crankbaits has been best. Perch fishing has been great in Oconto, with good catches found in the weeds, Oconto Shoal and around Geanos reef. Crawler pieces and minnows are best. Be sure to use Selective Harvest and let those 13” plus giant perch go. The 9-11” are the best eaters, as are the 15-19” walleyes. If you go, please be safe, and take a kid fishing.
