It has been a windy/snowy couple of days down here on the lower bay. Ice conditions are still good and fishermen are catching fish. Up by the Depere Dam and 172 bridge some male walleyes, whitefish, perch and a few crappies are being caught. At Metro launch fishermen are targeting whitefish and nice northern pike. Inside the GBYC and South Bay harbor some nice perch and whitefish have been biting with an occasional walleye and pike. The slew by the 43 bridge has been producing some crappies and perch, someone should setup some tip ups in there for pike. On the east shore by Joliet Park fishermen are venturing out on the ice further from shore and they are catching perch, whitefish and some walleyes. Out of Vokes Reef and Bay Shore whitefish and some perch are being caught. On the west shore Dead Horse Bay, Hook Rd and Geanos fishermen are targeting perch, whitefish, walleyes and pike. As we move into March the mouth of the Fox River should start up with the big female walleyes heading to the dam to spawn. For more information give us a call at 920 593 1749. Yah, only at Smokeys!!!
