Weather this past week overall was very good for fishing opportunities only a few “Stormy days” to
dodge weather.
The lower Bay areas around Deadhorse Kidney Island, College Reef and Frying Pan Shoal still are giving
up some Walleye catches. The trouble has been the Cottonwood on the water and the tons of floating
weeds around from the storms. Trolling Flicker Minnows in size #7 has been good if you can keep your
lines clean.
Green Bays East shore walleye action has come to a screeching halt. A few fish have still been caught
working the 12’-20’ of water areas from Bayshore north to Macco’s Reef. Many reports of schools of
Alewife in those areas have come in and that has slowed that action. Windy days have been better but
overall it is slow.
The Geanos Reef area has begun to pick up for both trolling and jigging. Anglers are finding a few
walleyes around the reef trolling crawler harnesses and Flicker Minnows and casting jig/crawler and hair
jigs.
The Perch bite remains almost non-existent currently. Your best bet continues to be using your
electronics to seek out the fish before setting up. Drop shot rigs with both minnows and crawler pieces
have produced some catches around reefs Vincent Reef, Dykesville and Macco’s Reef. Reports of a few
fish out in 22-24 feet of water off Bay Shore have come in also.
