Smokeys on the Bay Guide’s Weekly Fishing Report 5/11/21

Fishing over the last 7 days for walleyes has been good to excellent on Green Bay. While colder air temperatures and high winds have kept many off the water, those who have braved the waters have been rewarded with solid catches. Good eating size walleyes have been caught around the east shore of University Bay, Vokes Reef, Suamico, Geanos Reef and Bayshore. Trolling crankbaits and jigging with hair jigs and rippin raps have been the most successful presentations. Large white bass are now found in the mouth of the Fox River and are beginning to disperse into the Bay. To the north, an excellent bite around Oconto and Sturgeon Bay continues for both walleye and smallmouth bass. Casting jerk baits and tubes are taking the most fish. If you go, be safe, and take a kid fishing!
