Smokeys weekly fishing report by Captains Claus and Ruffolo 10/26/26

Out on Green Bay the Walleye Fishing has been in a bit of a funk. If you are looking to be out on the Bay
chasing Walleye try areas like College Reef, Geano’s Reef, or Vicent and Volks Reefs. Trolling #7 Flicker
Minnows has been productive at times for anglers. Fish have been spread out but those areas are
holding baitfish and Walleye. Anglers doing some jigging with hair jigs or Shiver Minnows are also
finding a few Walleye willing to bite at times.
Anglers moving up the Fox River in search of Walleye that are chasing Shad movements have also found
fishing overall difficult. Casting crank baits up at the Dam both early morning and the evening into dark
has produced some catches. Anglers casting hair jigs along channel edges also report catching some
Walleye when the current and wind are favorable.
Perch anglers continue to have great action. Anglers are having success from 15’-20’ from Bayshore to
Dykesville. Also areas along the shipping channel from the entrance light to Long Trail have been
producing good catches. It is key to use your electronics to locate scattered schools and then anchor.
Minnows have been more productive than crawlers. Drop shotting with double and single Perch Fly rigs
like the ones from Fishing Addiction Grear have been killer. Check out Smokeys on the Bay to get yours!
Musky fishermen are having success both casting and trolling from Metro landing along the shipping
channel out to Long Tail. Also Frying Pan Shoal and most areas of University Bay have been giving up a
few nice fish trolling. Tyrant Raz Shads and Blue Water KO Shads seem to be working the best for trolling.
Remember to take a kid fishing
